Sex as an incentive to lose weight? How do I sign up! LOL!

All joking aside, I totally agree with your suggestions and it is worth pointing out to a partner that this is his or her way to help with the weight loss program.

Feeling sexy is a great motivator in deed...the hard part is feeling sexy when you are feeling frumpy.

Any advice to shake the frumpies and turn on the sexies?

Joni,
Thanks for your comments.

I understand how you don't feel sexy when you feel frumpy. Much of it is mindset. But once you get on your way with a workout program, you will start to feel and see your body change (even if the scalse doesn't reward you for your efforts yet.) You increase your feel good chemicals to the brain by exercising and eating healthy foods. So by setting your mind to sticking to it, you will get these benefits right away and it will be easier to "get in the mood."

You don't have to be at your goal weight to enjoy sex with your partner. Rejoice in your progress and love ther person you are becoming. Then make sure you dress in clothes that fit and flatter. Ill fitting clothes often emphasize problem areas.

Have fun with it!

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't have a problem with my sex life but I can always improve it! LOL!

I know that when I do exercise it does make a difference. Okay, you've convinced me, I'm packing a gym bag!

Joni,

I can relate. At times when I have been slacking and don't feel very good about myself, I do start feeling frumpy.

But let me tell you, I have been doing the Biggest Loser workout for a few weeks now and I already feel leaner, stronger and more confident.

Stick with the exericse for a few weeks and you will be hooked. You will want to start showing off your progress.

Enjoy your journey:)

I've been at my lightest weight since I got married over a year ago -- I enjoy sex the most when I feel good about my body, not frumpy or dumpy. That makes me think twice about eating lots of dessert or chips (although after I submit this, I'm planning to indulge in a homemade chocolate chip cookie!) Many people gain weight after getting married, but I went the opposite way.

I think the best motivator for weight loss is your own self. If you lose weight so you enjoy all aspects of your life more, then you're more likely to keep off the weight. It's that "change your lifestyle" bit - it works.

Thanks for sharing, Laurie. I agree that when you feel good about yourself sex is more enjoyable. Sex and weight loss can work together as a part of your lifestyle change.

I have to admit that my husband and I became eating partners and gained weight early in our marriage, but we are taking it off now together and it feels great to be healthier.
