» Nulla - 15 lbs in 2 weeks!

In response to 15 lbs in 2 weeks! posted by RoseRighter:

According to yoyr request - some additional info about this diet. I hope it'll help you ;-)

Lunch and dinner may be swapped if it happens on the same day. The diet is meant to change metabolism, which entails that after 13th day you may resume your ordinary eating habits without being concerned that you will gain weight in the first two years. If you pursue your diet rigorously, you will lose excessive fat (7-20 kg). The treatment is to be followed for 13 days and not one day more or one day less.
If during the diet you will indulge yourself with a glass of wine or beer, some confectionery or chewing gum, or you nibble at some extra food, your diet will be cut short immediately and the effect will be gone. If you interrupt your treatment before the 6th day, you may re-start it after 3 months. If you pursued the diet strictly by the book, you absolutely must not repeat it sooner than after a year. It is recommended though, that treatment should be repeated after 2 years (if necessary). Due to its length, the diet may be difficult to plan; you should make sure that you are not invited to a birthday celebration or other party during that time. This treatment brings about loss of weight because it is a low calorie diet; about 700 kcal comes mainly from proteins and it is therefore a heavy burden for kidneys, hence the frequency warning.
This diet affects our culinary tastes and therefore it changes metabolism. After you're done with the regime, you will most likely not fancy sweets or fatty meats any more.
It is effective solely when pursued consistently in line with the schedule. As I said - having a bite of chocolate bar, a sip of wine or pampering yourself with something beyond the schedule ruins the effectiveness of the diet. Because of its parameters, it must not be followed longer than for 13 days, and not more often than once every 2 years. Otherwise, it may lead to exhaustion of the organism and vitamin and mineral deficiency. The only alleviation throughout the diet may be drinking at least 2 liters water daily.

Additionally, do not use salt or any other seasoning except lemon juice. If you do not like spinach, you may replace it with lettuce or cooked Chinese cabbage.

And one more - menu for a first day of Copenhagen Diet:
Breakfast: mug of black coffee, piece of sugar.
Dinner: 2 hard-boiled eggs, boiled spinach or broccoli, tomato.
Supper: Big beefsteak, lettuce with oil and lemon.

And ... there is no need to do excercises. But it is not forbidden, of course.

If you still have questions - just let me know :-)

regards, Nulla

I personally do not recommend the Copenhagen Diet. The Web site gives very little information about the diet and from what is wrttten earlier in this discussion, it does not appear to be a sound eating plan. There are many red flags here. Having only coffe and sugar for breakfast, eliminating major food groups and not exercising are not good ways to lose weight and keep it off.

A diet like this will leave you feeling drained and while you may temporarily lose weight, it will not continue to come off without lifestyle changes. The same is true for over-the-counter pills.

There is no magic pill for weight loss. Your best bet is to make better food choices, reduce your calorie intake a little bit each day and get your body moving to burn calories and get healthy.

I tried to find out the same information about the Copenhagen Diet, but the Web site doesn't say much of anything and I didn't come up with anything else through Google searches.

Thanks for adding the link. That actually explains the Danish Diet better than any other site I have found. It is a very strict program that relies on negative calorie foods.

I don't suggest following this diet and urge dieters to think about a long-term program to lose weight and keep it off safely. Qucik weight loss is not safe and it doesn't last.

Hi,

I'm on the diet and it is my 5th day. I did not inform myself properly and now I'm finding out that tomato's and salt and even fruit are not good. (I had the fruit salad for dinner on day 4)The diet plan did not give much information on measurements.. how much is one "big white fish"?? Why do i eat a carrot with lemon on day 4 if apparently carrot's are not ideal? I'll continue the diet and try to be more careful but I'm a little freaked out that it will not work as intended. Also I'M VERY HUNGRY!!! ;)

Thanks for your help!
