The difference that allowing mistakes in your diet can make for longterm success, as described in Dr. Ian Smith's book, The Fat Smash Diet.
The diet that is getting results for the contestants on Celebrity Fit Club is called the Fat Smash Diet, a weight loss book written by Ian Smith M.D. The Fat Smash Diet is a 90-day program that is broken down into 4 distinct stages.
The first stage is the detox phase. This is a 9-day period where you'll rid your body of harmful toxins from processed foods and environmental factors, making it easier to lose weight. While in this phase, the basic foods you'll be consuming are fruits and vegetables. You can also eat things like oatmeal, egg whites and beans in limited portions.
The second stage is the foundation phase. This is a three-week period when you'll build upon the fruits and veggies stage by adding lean meats to your meals.
The third stage is the construction phase. This is a 4-week period where you will be eating fruits, veggies, lean meats and adding whole grains like brown rice, whole-wheat spaghetti and whole grain breads and cereals. Here you can start to enjoy some sweets, but in limited portions and in addition to the fruits and veggies, not instead of them.
The final stage is the temple phase. This is a lifelong phase where you'll be able to eat all of the foods from the previous stages and gradually add limited amounts of white starches like potatoes and white rice. You'll also be able to enjoy a few glasses of wine or beers per week.
The interesting thing about the Fat Smash Diet is that it allows you to plan for mistakes. None of us are perfect, so how can we expect ourselves to follow a diet plan perfectly every day for the rest of our lives? We can't. But if you fail to plan for slip-ups, you are likely to beat yourself up and get off track for longer periods of time and continue on a path of yo-yo dieting.
Dr. Smith says that minor mistakes can be fixed by going back to phase one for about a week and then returning to the stage where you left off. Allowing for compromise sets you up for success.
Exercise is the other key to losing weight fast and keeping it off for good. Find one or more activities that suit your personality or interests and stick with it. Burning calories makes you feel great and work hand-in-hand with proper nutrition to create painless weight loss without a magic pill.
Tips for Success on the Fat Smash Diet
· Don't overeat.
· Don't stop eating fruits and vegetables, no matter what stage you are in.
· Don't skip meals.
· Don't skip exercise.
· Don't indulge in fried foods.

I just watch the Celebrity fit club and several of the people lost 8-11 ln. in a week on this diet. It was created by Dr. Ian Smith from the show. Has any out there tried this and had similiar results? Was it hard? I don't know if you have to eat all fruits and veg. all raw for 9 days or can you cook them?

I don't know what food are allowed on this diet but I'd be willing to try it as long as I didn't get sick.

The results you see on Celebrity Fit Club are for a 2-week time period. Even so, they are getting great results. I can honestly say it can work for some people. My husband did the full 9 day detox and lost 12 lbs. He did fine. I, on the other hand, am a food addcit and i can't function without carbs. I tried one day of it and didn't make it without getting sick.
You can eat several other things though, including oatmeal, brown rice, plain yogurt and egg whites.

You can eat fresh fruits and vegetables, brown rice, egg whites, oatmeal and plain yougurt for the first 9 days. After that you can start adding back your lean meats like chicken and turkey breast. By the end of the 4 stages you can gradually add back all the foods you normally eat.

I went out to dinner during phase 1 of the fat smash diet and I'm not sure if I have to start the detox over from the beginning or add another day on to the 9 day detox, does anyone know what I am supposed to do?

The book only indicates brown or dirty rice. What day are you on and what cycle and how are you fairing? I am day 3, cycle 1 and I have lost 2.5lbs. and that is not water weight because I was already exercising and eating right. Pretty good results.
