My experience as a first timer at weight watchers. Entering a world of couning points to lose weight.

I've thought about joining Weight Watchers before. Many times, in fact. I have heard the success stories and how other women have lost 30, 50 or more punds on it, only to gain it back when they stopped going to the meetings.

It wasn't exactly curiosity that got the best of me though. My doctor suggested that I try a formal program verses trying to lose weight on my own. So I decided to give it a shot.

The first weight in was not horrifying. Sure it is a higher number than I ever want to see again, but it was not like advertising it to the worls like the contestants on the biggest loser had to do. In fact, the person who weighed me in never even said my weight out load. Only she could see the number and she marked it down on a card that I carry with me.

After signing up and paying my weekly fee, I was introduced to the program and asked to choose between flexpoints and the Core program. Because the core program doesn't allow bread, it was a no-brainer for me. Flexpoints seems to work best with my lifestyle anyway.

A 30-minute meeting about staying on the right path was presented and everyone was sent on their way to count points for the week in an effoert to shed pounds and get their health back.

My daily points value is actually quite high so I am confident that I can live within them, especially with the help of the bonus points for the week and the exercise points you can earn.

The Weight Watchers plan seems doable, healthy and reasonable. So here's to a good week of healthy choices and points wisely spent!

I'd love to hear comments from anyone doing Weight Watchers!
