When your motivation runs dry and you have trouble staying on track with your weight loss goals, consider participating in a weight loss fundraiser for thirst relief.

Charles Allen had a brilliant idea when he created Weight Loss 4 Humanity and teamed up with Thirst Relief International to set up clean water systems with money raised through weight loss.

Obesity is a troubling epidemic that causes a host of health problems, including death and more than two million people die each year because they don't have enough clean water to drink. That's why Allen came up with idea to combine the two efforts.

How to Make Your Weight Loss Efforts Count

  1. Sign up on the website.
  2. Make the commitment to lose weight.
  3. Print a plegde sheet from Weight Loss 4 Humanity.
  4. Pass the pledge sheet around to friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to solicit donations. The recommnedation is $5 per pound that you lose.
  5. At the end of the 5-week program, weigh-in and collect monies due.
  6. Report funds raised to Weight Loss 4 Humanity and they will take care of the rest.
  7. For each $5 donation you will be able to save one life.

If losing weight for yourself isn't enough to keep you motivated, consider the pride you'll feel being able to save a handful or 100 lives. The more pledges you take and weight you lose, the more water will be available to those who have a desperate need for it.

"Think not what weight loss can do for you...but what it can do for the world."
