I have Only Myself to Blame

It's hard to blame Corporate America and powerful marketing for my weight issues when I know I have made poor food choices.

Who do I think is responsible fot the obesity problem in Amercia? Me. Well, I'm not responsible for everyone, of course, but I am repsonsible for my own poor dieting choices. I have a problem with emotional eating and I find it very difficult to avoid temptation.

Is there a lot of temptation around us today? Absolutely! It doesn't help when I see an overload of TV commercials for pizza and other prepared foods. These meals are often cheaper and easer too. Take the $5 pizza deals, for example. It's hot and ready when you need it and it's dirt cheap. It's any pizza-lover's dream; except when you rely on these types of foods too much.

It's our job to block these marketing messages and eat everything in moderation. The rewards from such meals are only momentary, then the feelings fo guilt and low-energy kick in.

I've gotten better about my food choices, but I have a long road ahead of me. I need to continuously make better choices and allow myslef a treat like macdonald's or pizza only once in a while.
