Modeled afterThe Biggest Loser, The Fat March consists of 12 contestants who want to lose weight. The team is led across nine states by two trainers, Steve Pfiester and Lorrie Henry.
You may thing there is no glory in walking 570 miles across the US while spending nights in a tent, but losing weight is not the only prize on Fat March.
$1.2 million dollars is at stake. The money is a prize pool to be divided by those left at the finish line. The catch is that everyone has the chance to vote someone out each week. The cost for letting a team member go is $10,000 though.
Fat March is made up of six stages. Stage one lasted eight days, in which time marchers lost between 4 and 16 pounds each.
Shane, a marcher who started at 519 pounds was voted out at 503 pounds. Though he hadn’t reached his first goal of getting into the 400’s, his trek was cut short due to stress fractures in his feet.
The goal of Fat March is not only to lose weight, but to keep the team in tact and cross the finish line together to maximize the prize money.
Did they make it to Washington? Did they lose weight? Did they win big money? Check out the Fat March Finale for answers.
