Biggest Loser Recap Week 8

After another emotional week for Adrian, she managed to come out on top as the biggest loser of the week. She had several emotional breakdowns and fought with Caroline about the fairness of the week’s challenge. She stated (and was correct) that everyone would vote her and the other gray teammate off first because they joined the show late in the season. She called it correctly, but I don’t think anyone appreciated her outburst or accusations and Caroline seemed shocked. Adrian lost 7 pounds, but with her small frame, she claimed the largest percentage of weight loss for the week.

Kai saved herself for the second time this season. In a competition that scared her to tears, she blew away the competition and took the lead on a stationary bike ride in the sky. As the winner of the challenge she won the bike and immunity this week.

Wylie came up with no loss. No gain either, but it secured his place in the bottom two contestants for the week and at risk for going home. He is upset and bewildered by the news and others seem to think he over-trained – apparently more than four hours a day is not good either. But we shall see if it pays off for him at the next weigh in.

That’s right - Wylie will be back another week. His former team-mate and friend Matt was the poor guy that was voted off this week. He was my pick for the biggest loser this season, but my disappointment for him didn’t last long. His transformation moment made my jaw drop. After returning home to impress his students at the high school where he works, he continued to work on his ultimate goal and lost an additional 50 pounds!! The big belly he once had is nowhere to be found. He looks strong and lean and talked about how the show helped him find the happy person inside of him.

Almost exciting was seeing Erik lose 11 pounds this week, putting him at a 100 pound loss since he walked onto the ranch. The only thing that lessened that enthusiasm for me was the fact that he showed no loyalty to Marty and sealed his fate to go home this week. Until the moment it happened and he said he was protecting himself to win in the end, I never in a million years would have thought he would vote for Marty.

So for the seond week, the gray team is safe and another one of my favorite contestants were sent home.
